Sound-attenuated generator enclosures and offsite plant rooms — designed, fabricated, tested and delivered from our own yard in Moira.
Qualmet Engineering & Design specialises in the detailed design and manufacture of industrial generator enclosures and offsite plant rooms, supplying construction and manufacturing clients across the UK.
Every project runs through our own 3D design office before it reaches the shop floor, so what gets built matches what got signed off — and every enclosure that leaves Moira has been floor-bund immersion tested, with all pipework and tanks pressure tested and certified on our own equipment.
Every enclosure starts as a steel chassis and is built out to suit the plant it houses — clad, louvred and finished for the site it's going to.

Built to suit engine sizes and noise-suppression levels ranging from standby to prime power installations. Every enclosure is immersion tested for floor bunding, with all pipes and tanks pressure tested and certified in-house before the set leaves our yard.
Supplied as a steel chassis, built out internally and clad in timber or Kingspan panel to suit the site. Housing heating plant, air conditioning, electrical transformers, compressed air systems, pumps and motors — fitted out and tested off-site, then delivered road-ready throughout the UK so commissioning on site is fast and predictable.
Every generator enclosure is trialled with its engine running, so the acoustic performance is proven, not assumed.
Acoustic louvre panels manage cooling airflow in and out of the enclosure while attenuating noise at the openings — the hardest part of any silenced enclosure to get right.
Enclosures are tested with the housed engine live before dispatch, not modelled on paper — what you see on the video is the enclosure doing its job.
Panel build-up and exhaust silencing are specified to the engine size and the site's noise limits, whether that's a residential boundary or an industrial compound.
3D solid modelling in-house, importing client CAD/ACAD files where needed, with full manufacturing drawings issued for sign-off.
CAD/CAM output drives our plasma profiler and press brake directly, built by coded welder-fabricators.
Floor-bund immersion testing, pressure-tested pipework and tanks, and engine-running acoustic tests before anything ships.
Enclosures leave Moira complete and site-ready, transported UK-wide on our own low-loaders.

25,000 sq ft of production floor, run by coded welder-fabricators experienced across stainless, aluminium and mild steel.
